Sparks at Practice

Posted by Charlesetta Lavergne at May 3, 2007 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

In cooperation with the Louisiana Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, we will be hosting the 2007 Governor's Games in Opelousas, Louisiana.

The tournament will take place June 14-16, 2007.  That's Thursday through Saturday.

There will be no Sunday games.

The Sparks are looking forward to hosting the Governor's Games this year!

Every player will receive a souvenir t-shirt and there will be gold, silver, and bronze winners in each age division.

There will be no running time as there will be pool and bracket play.

Please send in your entry form as soon as you can so that preliminary schedule can be made as the entry forms are received.

We will use Opelousas High, Sunset Elementary, Westminster Christian Academy, Opelousas Jr. High, Opelousas Catholic, Northwest and North Central gyms.  We will try to assign the same age division to the same gym, but sometimes this will not happen as some teams have more than one age division competing in the tournament.

St. Landry Parish is proud to be a part of this event and welcomes every player, parent and fan.

We look forward to seeing all of you at the tournament.

The entry  and roster form will be available in the handout section below this article.

Gulf Coast Easter Classic A Success

Posted by Charlesetta Lavergne at Apr 15, 2007 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
The Sparks hosted the First Gulf Coast Easter Classic in 2007. The tournament was a success with over 33 teams participating. Games were held at three gyms in the Opelousas area. Everything ran smoothly. Our officials received rave reviews from all teams and their fans. Congratulations to the parents, family, and friends who helped to make this tournament a great success. We are very proud of our girls who worked so hard. They not only played, but helped out where ever it was needed. Thanks Girls!

The schedule has been revised to accommodate changes you all requested.

Please download and print for your records.

Many thanks to you all.

See you all at the tournament!
